It’s common for washing machines to display error codes on the control panel when something goes wrong. LG washing machines are no exception.

If you own an LG washing machine and have encountered error codes, don’t panic. In this article, we’ll discuss some of the common error codes that LG washing machines display, the reasons behind them, and how to fix them.

OE error code

The OE error code stands for “outlet error,” which means that the washing machine is having trouble draining water. The first thing you need to check is the drain hose, which might be clogged or kinked.

If the drain hose is fine, check the filter basket located behind the small access panel at the front of the machine, and clean it if it’s dirty. If the problem persists, then the drain pump might be malfunctioning, and you’ll need to call a technician to fix it.

IE error code

The IE error code indicates an “inlet error,” which means that the washing machine is not getting enough water. This error can happen if the water supply valve is closed or if the water supply pressure is too low.

Check to make sure that the water supply valve is completely open and that there are no kinks in the inlet hose. If everything seems fine, then the issue might be with the water inlet valve, which will require a technician to replace it.

LE error code

When you see the LE error code, it means there’s a “load error.” As a result, the tub cannot spin. This error code is usually caused by the washer being overloaded or a foreign object being stuck in the tub. To fix this error, unplug the washing machine, wait five minutes, and try again.

While the machine is unplugged, inspect the drum for any objects that may be stuck inside it. Remove any foreign objects. If your machine continues to display the error code, a repair technician will need to inspect your machine.

UE/UB error code

The UE error code is an “unbalanced error,” which means that the washing machine is having trouble balancing the load during the spin cycle. To fix this error, redistribute the clothes in the drum and make sure they are evenly distributed.

Additionally, check that the washing machine is level and adjust the feet if necessary. You can also try washing smaller loads to prevent the clothes from bunching up and causing the machine to go off balance.

DE error code

The DE error code stands for “door error,” indicating that there is an issue with the door latch. This can happen if the door is not fully closed or if there is an obstruction preventing it from closing properly.

As a safety feature, the washing machine will not operate if the door is open. Make sure that the door is closed securely, and run the cycle again.

If the issue persists, check for any obstructions in the door or around the latch and remove them. If you continue to see the same error code, there may be an issue with the door latch itself, and it will need to be replaced by a technician.

CE error code

CE stands for “current error,” which means that there has been a surge in the current of electricity supplied to the machine. This can happen if there is a power outage or a problem with the electrical supply in your home.

To fix this error, unplug the machine for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If the error code persists, try plugging the washing machine into a different outlet to see if that resolves the issue. If not, there may be an issue with the electrical wiring in your home, and we recommend that you consult a professional electrician.

PE error code

The PE error code indicates a “water level sensor error,” which means that the washer is having trouble filling up with water. First, check the water supply and make sure the water pressure is sufficient.

If the water supply is fine, unplug the machine for ten seconds and plug it back in. If this error code persists after plugging the machine back in, you will need to call a repair technician.

FE error code

The FE error code stands for “fill error,” which means that the washing machine is overfilling. This can happen if the water inlet valve is malfunctioning or there is a water level sensor problem.

To drain the water, close both taps and set the cycle to “no spin.” Run the cycle, and the washing machine should drain.

Once the machine has drained, run the cycle again. If the error code happens again, there may be a problem with the water level sensor or drain pump, and it will need to be replaced by a repair technician.

tE error code

The tE error code stands for “temperature error” and is caused by a faulty thermistor. A thermistor is responsible for measuring the temperature of the water in the washing machine.

To fix this error, you will need to replace the faulty thermistor with a new one. You can consult your washing machine’s manual or contact a repair technician for assistance.

CL error code

The child lock feature is used to prevent children from accidentally starting or changing settings on the washing machine. To activate the child lock, press down and hold the “Child Lock” button for a few seconds until the indicator light turns on.

To deactivate it, repeat the same process. This feature ensures that your child is safe around the washing machine and prevents any disruptions to your laundry.

Final thoughts

Like any other machine, LG washing machines can encounter problems, and error codes are one way to diagnose the problem. By knowing how to fix these error codes, you can save time and money on repair bills.

Remember to always unplug your appliance before attempting any repairs, or call a professional if you are not familiar with mechanical troubleshooting. We hope this article has helped you understand LG washing machine error codes and how to fix them.
