"JB Out 1/27/22 customer states when hitting a plate of food with a cloth towel under the plate, the cloth towel became scorched. After removing the towel from the microwave oven sometime afterwards the towel ignited and burned. Upon arrival took quick pic photographs of exterior and interior of microwave oven. Verified no burn or scorch marks within microwave. Verified microwave is immaculately clean. Tested microwave oven verified normal operation as designed. Inspected microwave and found unit not installed correctly. Vent fan is installed in the position for a ducting to the exterior of the home but no ducting exists. Vent fan should have been repositioned to vent out the front top grill but has not been done so. Recommend customer contact and experience installer to have this corrected per the supplied installation guide. Verified normal operation no safety issue exists. No charge to customer. Job complete NOTE: contacted General Electric Techline and documented all information gathered today during this service visit."

Found the unit is not defrosting properly. The heater and thermistor checked ok but the white wire going to the heater was not fully connected so I think its backing out when defrost cycle starts. I reconnected until it snapped in and all is now ok. Allow 24-48 hours for normal temps to be restored. Job completed.
