The red light just means that the heater is on. I tested unit through diagnostic, all tests normal. I called tech line and we think there was left over silicone from manufacturing still on the heater and it was burning off. All tests normal."

"JB out 8/18/22. customer states after replacing water filter, water will not flow, icemaker does not produce ice cubes and display reeds ERR. Further inspection found newly installed water filter that does appear to be a genuine factory filter however it does not have the RF ID tag on it. Customer said she bought the filter at Home Depot and was told this was the correct filter for this model. refrigeratorInstructed customer genuine General Electric manufacture water filter will have an RF ID tag and chip behind the tag. The refrigerators computer is looking for the Radio frequency identity. Device customer once the water filter has been installed that is genuine and contains the RF ID tag the water will flow once again. Install temporarily my general electric filter bypass just to verify water does now in the flow and the error in the display window goes away. Customer will replace his filter with a genuine General Electric water filter containing the RF ID. No parts used. No charge to customer. Job complete"
