"Through the initial function testing, I have noticed that even when unit is already washing, agitating, the indicators will not advance, itll stay on FILL only. I have called whirlpool and spoke with Edwin, we ran the self test and found no errors, but a rough shifting and taping noises were observed right away, plus the squeaking heavily during spin. So Ive preceded to check underneath and didnt see any unusual among components. Dislocated the agitator and found the big bunch of nutty hair and a hair tight around the gear case shaft, removed it and test again and the complaint noise was still there.. I am recommending the following for replacement. Gear case, Spanner, splutch, belt, and shifter, washer.; ordrng 1 W11481722 (Shifter) and 1 W10721967 (Splutch) and 1 W11553312 (Washer) and 1 W11551646 (Spanner)"

Found the unit is receiving hot water when cold is selected and vise versa. Found the water supply is hooked up properly but the wires on the inside were reversed on the valve. So I reinstalled to the correct solenoid and now cold water colds out when selected and hot when hot is selected. All functions are now working properly. Job completed.
