They can tell when the unit is not going to work because the sound of the unit changes and water is dripping on to the ice in the bin. Customer has started the unit and a couple harvests are present on the cutting grid. These ice slabs do not appear to have made it all the way on to the cutting grid. When this happens the sound and dripping water the customer has described is caused by the unit attempting to make more ice but instead of the water recycling it drips on to the ice in the ice bin. Removed the cutting grid and manually cleaned area on the evaporator that causes the excess friction that does not allow the ice slab to slide on to the cutting grid. After cleaning I started a cycle and saw that the new slab, after cleaning, has slide all the way on to the grid. Called WPTS (7727996433) to document the call. They have recommended that the customer clean the unit more often with acid t

Unit passed all tests, watch unit through Norma cycle empty, load tested and unit passed, contacted Ed Sr7727997771 ran through tests, found too much up and down play indicating loose shaft on gearcase, pressure transducer on main control suspect of being failed, tech ran unit in a bulky load and dosed and properly loaded unit and let unit run, returned later in the evening and cx stated unit did same thing . Manufacture recommends gearcase and control. Washplate sized to gearcase shaft. Needs hub and washplate."

Inspecting ice maker and found frost, looked at unit installation and unit was touching cabinet on left and right side, sitting torqued in cabinet space. Informed cx due to where unit was installed this unit could not be properly leveled and would only cause damage to cabinet of unit putting strain on the walls because the cabinet in the home is off. Cx requested tech to pull unit out and show him the doors will be level when pulled out. Tech obliged and pulled unit out. Unit sat square on the floor and the doors were fine. complete."
