"JB out 10/25/24.Customer states dryer runs, but does not produce heat. Upon arrival tested dryer in time dry cycle verified no heat. Inspected behind dryer and found installer has a used thin foil type ducting which poses a potential risk for loss of life and fire hazard. Inspected outside of room and found exhaust duct vent hood approximately 3 to 4 inches from the ground causing a 65 to 75% restriction . This restriction will allow the dryer to overheat and potentially the thermal cut out. Customer states the thermal fuse has been replaced several times previously. Advise customer installation corrections must be made prior to repair work.1. exhaust ducting material being used behind dryer is thin foil type ducting. This must be replaced with either Regi-flex heavy aluminum ducting, material or galvanized steel. Existing exhaust vent hood must be replaced with a louver style van hood that exhaust straight out. Additionally, the 4 inch diameter hole in the wall of the laundry room to exit. The building. Must be raised about 10 to 12 inches higher to prevent restriction. Ran a heat cycle and got an F1-E5(microwave inverter error) cleared multiple 1-5 codes started the microwave and got an 2-0(keypad disconnected ) found a relay on the appliance manager board was damaged and the primary door switch is bad (no power at 4903 with the door closed) called WPTS(7740192187) to verify the diagnosis. Found the unit has two issues. First there is an error code for an open or shorted moisture sensor. I did a continuity test and it tested ok. Ordered a control to resolve that. Inspected unit and found gasket with a crease in it. Also Cx showed picture of leaking. Clearly there was another soap issue. Last time I was here there was a lot of soap in unit. I replaced creased gasket. Cx is using to much soap. Advised on 1 pack of soap. Unit passed all test with no leaks.

Found the evap fan not turning properly and reason for cooling issue. The evap motor needs to be replaced also the door not sealing well because it appears the unit was dropped at one point in its life but should be able to heat treat to get the door to seal. Trip and diagnostic is 145.00. Labor is a l14 187.92. And the motor is 232.73 with a sales tax of 20.36. So total is 586.01. Customer is in touch with whirlpool and are trying to get a concession. So will use 30 day estimate. Only charging trip and diagnostic. Motor needed is WPW10464673.
