Even if you’re Hollywood’s biggest fan, sometimes you want to spend a date night in Los Angeles doing something other than dinner and a movie. Here are 5 of our favorite ways to plan a fun and romantic evening.
Echo Park Pedal Boats:
The Echo Park Pedal Boats are always a top thing to do in Los Angeles, and they just got even better for your special date nights. The swan boats are now available for night rides 7 days a week from sunset to closing. They even deck them out with LED lights so you can sparkle as you take in the Los Angeles skyline. ($11 per adult)
Two Bit Circus:
You’re always a winner with the Friday Date Night Deals at this virtual reality barcade. Enjoy casual games, immersive experiences, and friendly robots under the big top at Two Bit Circus. You’ll find your arcade favorites plus original games you can’t play anywhere else. (Admission free, pay to play)
Griffith Observatory:
Maybe the best things in life are free. Go hiking and watch the stars at Griffith Observatory. They’re open until 10 pm, and the view is spectacular after dark. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes and check out the exhibits. (Free)
Highland Park Bowl:
It’s the oldest bowling alley in Los Angeles and a masterwork of restoration. During Prohibition, you could get a doctor’s note for medicinal whisky upstairs, and go downstairs to bowl and drink. Today, you can skip the note and enjoy the live music and fabulous antiques at Highland Park Bowl. (Hourly lane rates vary by day)
Groundlings:
This improv and sketch comedy theatre has a 40-year history and famous alumni like Will Ferrell and Melissa McCarthy. Check the website for Groundlings show information and ticket prices. (Weekend date night packages start at $75 including dinner, valet, and VIP seating)Enjoy your date nights knowing that your home appliances are in good hands.
