If your dishes are coming out of the washing cycle dirty and soaking wet, something is definitely wrong. However, this could be due to a number of reasons. However, if you open your dishwasher immediately after the cycle ends and find that your dishes are ice cold, this means your dishwasher is using cold water, which affects its ability to wash and dry your dishes
When this happens, obviously you want to get it fixed as quickly as possible. This starts with diagnosing the problem. If your dishwasher is clearly using cold water, there is usually only one culprit.
Hot Water in the Home
Your hot water tank is responsible for heating up the water around your home including for your dishwasher. If the water is not between 120 degrees Fahrenheit and 150 degrees Fahrenheit, the dishwasher will not clean your dishes very well.
Ensure that your hot water tank is turned on and the temperature is set correctly to reach the appropriate temperature range for your dishwasher.
